Steep Hill Labs

Director of Marketing

We seek a hard-working and highly motivated Director of Marketing with epic skills to become a part of a fun and dynamic team in the exciting and explosive cannabis industry throughout the United States.

This position is critical. As Director of Marketing, you will oversee the company’s regional, national, and international marketing activities. You will be responsible for the design and execution of all aspects of our marketing plan. You will build and develop the team supporting those activities.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned marketer who can thrive in a fast-moving, startup environment.  A broad skill-set is required and you must be comfortable moving between oversight and execution across various activities because time and resources are limited. You can quickly prioritize, delegate and act in an environment where everything is urgent.  You have a solid grasp of design principles and are equally comfortable creating and overseeing print and online campaigns. You know how to scale a brand.  You have a strong web vision and can quickly identify 10 things to make any website better. You mastered conversion and SEO a long time ago. You have ninja level skill at vetting ad buys and sponsorship opportunities for maximum return.  The idea of not getting 10x ROI on a trade show makes you physically ill.

You’re ensconced in social media, it’s second nature to you. You don’t see social as a separate silo in your marketing matrix, and you also know what ensconced means because you’re an expert copywriter. As you read this job description you’re seeing half a dozen ways it could be more compelling.

You’re a “creative” and all that entails, but you’re also a data driven maniac.  You can’t live without metrics and measurable outcomes.  You can scrape insights from all types of data and craft testable, measurable, repeatable, successful marketing campaigns.  And you can do it over and over again; from tiny email drips to international brand deployments and you never burn out.

You’re a team player.  You can take criticism and feedback without ego or attachment.  You recognize that imagery and language are subjective and that every opinion is worth considering and that great ideas can come from anywhere.  You’re not a diva.  While being a team player, you’re also a leader. You have an ability to recruit, manage and cultivate a high-performing team with excellent esprit de corps. You commit yourself to the success of the people around you.

You’re ready for a career in cannabis, or you’re ready to take your cannabis career to the next level and beyond. You recognize the incredible career opportunity that this industry represents and you also recognize the opportunity that Steep Hill represents within the industry (we’re the first, we’re the biggest, we’re the best). You’re willing to leave it all on the field to maximize this opportunity, both for the company and for yourself.

Is that you? Good. When can you start?
